Lucknow by honz12 Lucknow by honz12
The abandoned cottage of Lucknow. It was dreary weather today when I took this, hence the b&w.

Honz, great show. B&W was def the way to go. You can feel how old the cottage is, though in relitive terms it probably isn't as old as some others on the island :) I also like the sheep dotting the hill in the background, defently gives me the feel of the UK.

Thanks John. I don't know the full story of Lucknow.... something about an Indian mutiny? I must Google it and find out more... but anyway, yeah the cottage was named Lucknow =]

Nice shot! I like the B&W, it adds depth and character. I also like that the cottage isn't centered in the frame. Very nice job, as usual.

yet again, more beautiful landscape in the background of a rickety old house!

Moderate and old fashioned I'll say but sure is beautiful in black and white to make it "simply beautiful".:)

Sweet, the composition of the photo is excellent and I think that the desision to put this one in b&w really works well with the subject. I can't help but feel that there is something missing though... Maybe it could have don with another subject for the viewer to concentrate on. A model perhaps? I dunno. Maybe it's just me...

Hmmmm, interesting. I do have another angle of this photograph with my brother looking in through the window on the left. The angle of the house is better in the other photo, but I didn't get that cool wall in the shot.
Maybe I'll play around with it and see what happens.

Having looked at the two I really like them both for different reasons, I think given the subject it was a really good idea using b&w - and the case of the other photo, keeping your bro in colour was a nice touch, nice one mate :D.
