Inscription: Pleidiol wyf I'm gwlad
Language: Welsh
Translation: True am I to my country

From the chorus of the Welsh National Anthem. Also inscribed on the 1985 British £1 coin which features the leek or the dragon on the front of said coin. [link]

"Hey John I thought you were Scottish?"
I was born and brought up in Scotland and my mum is Scottish, but my dad is from Wales so I consider myself half Welsh as well. plus the photograph is of loose change from my pocket and I didn't happen to have the Scottish coin in there!

Full view please.

Sweet! I love the blue light in the background. Also a great use of focus and a great description to finish the work off… :D

John, This is another great macro shot. Very simple composition, which make it very interesting. BTW, I have some of the coins (95 I think) with the Welsh Dragon on them like the ones in the photo's. Never knew what the inscription ment.

Very intriguing. I like the non-standard focus, blurring the coin closest in the foreground and concentrating on the middleground - great touch. Also, a nifty touch is the contrast of the grain of the table with the texture on the side of the coin, it's little things like that which I love, whether you intended that or not.

No I never intended the contrast you mentioned... in fact I never even noticed it till you pointed it out! Thanks for a great comment.

phew! good point dude I never noticed they had all that info there.... Um, I dunno, I presume Photoshop keeps info like that if your saving the original photgraph? I mean it is Photoshop after all and it is for editing photographs as well as all the other wonderful stuff it does. =p
Sometimes I'll paste photographs as new images and save them from there, if I done it that way Photoshop would not save the camera info.
